Adrian Cheng Chi-kong, a corporate executive and entrepreneur from Hong Kong, was born in 1979. He is the CEO, executive vice-chairman, and executive director of the Hong Kong-listed New World Development as well as the jewelry company Chow Tai Fook. He established K11, a company with a portfolio of commercial, cultural, and residential projects. Henry Cheng and Katherine Ip are Cheng's parents, Sonia Cheng and Brian Cheng, his two younger siblings.
Cheng is also the grandson of a real estate tycoon by the name of Cheng Yu-tung. When Cheng was a teenager, he received his education in the United States at Taft School in Connecticut. After graduating from Taft, Cheng enrolled in Harvard. He graduated with honors from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude). Later, Cheng traveled to Japan for a year of cultural study. In addition to receiving an honorary doctorate from SCAD, he also got an honorary fellowship from Lingnan University in 2014.

The French government honored Cheng with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2019. Following K11's partnership with the Cannes Film Festival, Hong Kong staged its first-ever film week that same year. He was appointed executive director of NWS Holdings, the infrastructure division of New World Development, in October 2019. On February 13, 2020, Cheng was appointed executive chair of the New World subsidiary New World China Land while maintaining in his role as executive vice-chairman of New World Development. He now oversees C Ventures and K11 Investment, two private investment companies in Hong Kong. He lost his job as general manager after being elevated to CEO of New World.
